An Aspheric magnifier is a superior
magnifier due to its aspheric shaped lens design that allows for optimum
edge-to-edge clarity, improved image sharpness, and more consistent
magnification across the field of view. Aspheric curves create a lens
that allows higher magnification with very minimal edge distortion that
would otherwise occur with a non aspheric magnifier lens. Aspheric
lenses are more expensive to design and manufacture and thus are and are
a bit more expensive then conventional magnifiers.
