ElectroMelt Furnace
The Kerr standard electro-melt is a
workhorse. This model is equipped with an insulated lid to keep oxygen out
during melting, a built-in pyrometer, a graphite crucible and stirring rod,
and a long-life heating element. The maximum temperature attainable is 2000º
F. The manual model has a calibrated control dial that lets you increase
power by increments. The unit is CE/UL and CUL certified. When sustained
high temperature use is required, it is recommended that you use an
Automatic Electro-Melt.
Automatic electro-melts are loaded with many
more features than the manual electro-melt. They feature an automatic
thermostat that controls the precise temperature required, regardless of the
quantity of metal. An electronic controller with digital display and
pressure sensitive touch pad allows for worry-free operations, extends the
life of the unit, and increases the maximum attainable temperature to 2050º
F. The controller is calibrated in Celsius and Fahrenheit. The controller
regulates the temperature by providing full power to the furnace until the
selected temperature is reached and will hold that temperature within +/-5º
F. The electronics are designed to eliminate overshoot and to protect the
element from overheating.
