Solder-filled sterling wire is a tri-metal wire; a solder core, a copper shell, and a fine silver outer layer.  The overall composition is sterling, with the fine silver shell designed to provide a better finish than sterling.  The core eliminates the need for additional solder, and the wire is ideal for jump rings and chains.  Simply flux and use.
